About Maywood |
| Maywood
Furniture Corporation started nearly seventy years ago manufacturing
folding banquet tables for major hotels. Since that time, our
product line and customer base have expanded greatly. The hundreds of
thousands of tables shipped to many of you, our satisfied customers,
attest to this fact. As it was seventy years ago, our principles remain the same: manufacture and sell a quality product at a fair price with an experienced and courteous customer service staff to back it up. |

| Q:
How did the Original series evolve? A: Maywood Furniture was the seventy year manufacturer of the Howe 200 Series® (now called the Maywood Original Series). Howe was bought out by Falcon. Falcon has also purchased Shelby-King Arthur. The bottom line is if you want, specifically, the original Howe 200 Series®, you now must buy the Maywood Original Series. Q: How long has the Original Series been in production? A: It has been in production for 71 years. Every year subtle product improvements and enhancements make it a stronger, more durable, and lighter table. Q: Is the Original Series base strong and better than the Standard Series wishbone leg? A: The Original Series base is certainly stronger, but a lot of your decision making is based on your personal preference and what type of table you have been using. Q: Why would I purchase the Original Series over the Standard Series? A: The Original Series, whether plywood, mayfoam, or laminate, is typically purchased for the upscale hotel market. The Standard Series is usually purchased for the restaurant, catering halls, and party rental businesses. Q: What is the recommended edging for the Standard Series? A: We recommend our unique crimped aluminum edge for strength and durability, especially for tables used frequently. Black vinyl edging is also available upon request. Q: Why should I choose the crimped edge over any other edging available? A: We have used and improved on this edging since the early 1930's when our tables first went to many major hotel chains, banquet facilities, and convention centers. Maywood's channel aluminum edge is crimped on to the table maintaining the integrity of the plywood better than aluminum or vinyl "T" edging. It protects the table top by covering the wood where it would otherwise chip and break off, especially corners, and has a small "tooth" on the bottom to keep its grip on the table. This edging, only available from the Maywood factory, can now be used to increase the strength and durability on laminate (like Formica brand) tables as well. Q: Do you offer laminate (like Formica) tables with particleboard core? A: Our laminate tables are always plywood core which is lighter and stronger than particleboard. Together with thick .050 Formica brand laminate on the top and the underside of the table, this is the best possible combination for laminated tables. Q: Am I able to get laminates other than those shown on the Available Finishes? A: Yes, most laminate colors are available as well as others. Matching colors is best done with sample chips which we will be happy to send you for special design projects. Q: Are children's tables available? A: Yes, many children's tables are 22" high. Please call to inquire about any non-standard heights. Q: Do you sell leg sets separately? What about parts for pedestal tables? A: All parts can be purchased separately. Please provide size and type of table you will be using the parts for, and we will do the rest. Q: How are tables packed for shipping? A: Any quantities of 6 tables or more will be stretch-wrapped on skids. Cartons are used for 6 or less, but any quantity can be cartoned upon request. Q. Where will orders be shipped from? A. All products in the catalog are shipped from our factory in Maywood, New Jersey Q. What are Maywood's company procedures towards returns, damages, change orders, etc? A. Maywood has all the details for our company procedures in our Terms and Conditions. |
