When Rene Bahr first went to work for Hyde Park Baptist Church School, 15 years ago, the fellowship hall was stocked with large heavy duty round tables. While helping the custodial staff clean up after an event, Rene rolled a table over her foot and broke a toe! At that point, she began looking for a lightweight table that was easier to move around. Rene first saw Southern Aluminum tables in a trade magazine and contacted the factory in Magnolia. Hyde Park Baptist Church also utilizes Southern Aluminum tables in other areas of the church because it is so easy to load them on a table truck and move them anywhere they are needed. When Winston Gatlin took the Director of Food Service position in the Southwest Independent School District, the food service department was using a combination of particle board tables and Southern Aluminum tables. Winston found that the Southern Aluminum tables were the best tables to use in the cafeteria setting. Winston stated that the particle board tables were always "falling apart" and the legs had to be changed on a regular basis. The Southern Aluminum tables only need a bit of touch-up paint every couple of years and very little other maintenance. He noted that the school district has Southern Aluminum tables that are almost 15 years old and still function as well as the day they bought them.
Winston discussed the advantage of using Southern Aluminum tables from the vantage point of the custodial staff. The tables are extremely easy to clean, and can be moved from one area to another with very little effort. Last year we began to research replacements for our splintered, heavy, worn-out plywood tables for our party rental business. We tested a variety of products including plastic, plastic-over-wood and aluminum MardiGras tables from Southern Aluminum.

Club Manager, James Tasho, describes Lagunitas Country Club as a small private club in Ross, California. With the club being small, James says that there is not room for storage, so tables and chairs are constantly being moved and arranged to accommodate the activities of the day. James remembers the days when the club used the standard wood tables. He says that it took two to three men to move the table, and someone was always bound to get a splinter in their hand.

Mr. Rob Livesey, Director of Knowlton School of Architecture at Ohio State University, first inquired about Southern Aluminum tables in 2003 - approximately one year before the school was opened. By opening day in September 2004, over 100 tables had been delivered to the Knowlton School. Mr. Livesey comments that the silver anodized finish and heavy-duty swivel casters complement the spacious glass and concrete design of the building.
